I know i picked mattock v o connells in the final - but I was close. Can only see one out come and that is a clans victory, i know the o connells have really improved as season has gone on, but i think they have left it just a shade to late! Celebrations on the castleblayney road on sunday evening!

Some of these lads have played and lost in 4 finals including a replay. 5th time lucky maybe. If Clans win and Gaels win coupled with SOM and Joes last year in their respective grades seems to be a resurgence of football in North Louth. Makes me happy because I have seen how at underage level it has got harder for teams in the area with Dundalk FC doing so well in the soccer

Sunday's final sees a repeat of the 2012 Inter final in which the Connell's came out in top in that one. If you are a Connell's fan and you are in to omens that this years Junior winners the Glens also won the Junior Championship in 2012. The Connells become the third team in a row to be relegated from Senior and reach the Inter final the following year. Kilkerley won the Inter in 2015 beating the Clans after a replay and Mattock reached the final last year only to be beaten by the Joes in the final. Including a replay this is the Clans fifth final in seven years. They lost the 2011 final to the super Rats, 2012 final to the Connell's and the 2015 final to Kilkerley after a replay.

Clans v Connells....................Clans.

Clans for me too. The Division 1 experience this year will be crucial.

Ollie you never ever go for the underdog with your boring predictions,I thought you would have learned by now the underdog does win sometimes such as Dundalk Gaels, glen Emmett's,clans v mattock as good examples. If favourites won the whole time we'd all be very rich!!

Gooch the best prediction of the year was made by your good self that Drogheda teams were finished. So after that statement I could not better it.

Yes if you read my statement I said the blues wer flying the flag for all Drogheda teams on their own.The likes of nicks, tones, rats and plunketts are finished. The blues are the only club to keep gaa alive in Drogheda. And before you say it the Glen Emmett's aren't in Drogheda.

I never said that the Glens were a Drogheda team anyway. Nicks and Tones might be struggling but to say that they are finished is pure ignorance. The Plunkett's are still flying the flag for west Drogheda and the super Rats are still senior so it's not all doom and gloom. So going by your logic you are going for the Connell's/Gaels double? If you ask Kikfada nicely he might look after you.

No I don't go for the under dog that much either but sometimes you have to put your neck on the line and go for them.Il go for clans and Gaels Dundalk double which would be interesting and would've been massive odds at the start of season I'd imagine.

Gooch I had a disaster of a year yet again for predicting the winners of each grade. I predicted the Dreads for Senior for the second year running, Feckins for Inter and Roche for Junior. 2015 was the last time that I predicted the three grades right. That Dundalk double of Senior/Inter would of been some bet alright. It has happened four times in 1945 with the Gaels winning Senior and the Clans winning Inter, 1987 Clans winning Senior and Gaels winning Inter, 1992 Clans winning Senior and S.O.M winning Inter and in 1998 was the same as 1992 with Clans winning Senior and S.O.M winning Inter.

Great display by the O'Connells. Clans were strong favs in the betting but scored only 0-8. They have a good few players over 30 and this could be the end for them, however they seem to always come back for more.

Clans are now the mayo of county Louth. A 5th final loss for 5-6 of those lads if you include 2015 final replay. Hard to take and might be the end for a few lads.
