Replying To Saffronhurl:  "Congratulations to all you Carlow followers, all the hard work has paid off and you have your chance at 1B which is very richly derserved. All the best for the league next year and I hope that you stay up, just a shame we weren't able to stay up to look forward to another good game from our county's"
Thank you Saffron it's very good of you to take the time to post here.

All the very best to Antrim also. We're in the same boat in many ways. I was in Belfast following the footballers and the hospitality and craic was terrific.

Thanks Saffron.

Our 4 matches last year against you brought our team on quite a bit.

Good to see Antrim competing well in div1b and pity you didn't survive.

Looking forward to our match in the Mcdonagh cup.

Great draw for us with 3 home games and only 2 away.

Having Kerry, Meath and Westmeath at home is a big advantage.

Antrim away will be difficult.

But 5 games in 7 weeks will be a test of the panel but after promotion
im tipping us to get in the top 2 for the final.

Laois and Antrim both away is very difficult. It's good we have 3 home games, but those two difficult away matches negate that somewhat.

It would be a tremendous acievement for all concerned if we were to finish in the top two. We're capable of it, but there will be more than a few backs to the wall moments to endure along the way. However, when we needed to pull out a result away to Kerry in the league we did it in spades!

Marty Kavanagh has left the panel. What a loss. But we must solider on.

He's a young man and he's entitled to a life outside of hurling. Good luck to him.

We'll have to soldier on is right. It will mean an opportunity for someone else.

Pity about Marty but great opportunity for travel.

Denis Murphy or Kevin Mc Donald could come in for the frees plus
we have John Michael to come back in after his suspension.

Still the strongest panel we have ever had so im still confident.

Heard we may be down quite a few for Sunday! John Michael Nolan, Eoin Nolan, Séamus Murphy, Paul Doyle as well as Mouse! All big men. Ball winners in the forwards lookin g scarce.

Very big match on Sunday... its a long time now since Westmeath in Portlaoise and Kerry are definitely no pushover. The ball will be moving well and it is a really tough opener. Kerry have never been bad and they travel well too. They will have no fears of us and the fact that we are own a few players will make a difference in some ways - Denis Murphy to start? A new challenge to those who have waited with patience and the chance is there to stake a place.

But I am confident we can get over this first big one. The team has a good balance to it and if Edward Byrne plays like he did in Portlaoise then we will have an extra edge.

Discipline will be an issue and we need to keep the eye on the ball right till the end and not get trapped into a battle where our discipline may be a distraction. Some of our players were excellent in that department right through the league but Sunday will have a keener edge.

Big result today which sets us up nicely.

Not a great performance but Jack Kavanagh and Eddie Byrne were immense.

A few of Eddie Byrnes points were as good as you would see anywhere. The defence took time to settle but looked very secure after that with no goal chances allowed.

At the other end we created so many goal chances that we almost were trying to walk it into the net.

Very scrappy start to the second half but the last 15 minutes were great entertainment. The subs did well when introduced and showed the depth of the panel, especially with the injured players.

Kerry are a tidy team with good finishers but why they go with the short puck out all the time is beyond me.

We will have John Michael back next week and I'd expect Diarmuid Byrne to start.

Tough battle in Belfast awaits but very winnable.

Another big assignment for the panel v Antrim.

Excellent performance from the team required again!

There is no big wait with this new style championship - and it is great that John Michael is available.

Antrim are a very passionate team and never give in...

Will be a very tough task but achievable.

Can anyone who was able to get up to Belfast fill us in on what the hell happened?! There seemed to be a complete breakdown in discipline which cost us the game and put cast a massive doubt on our chances of making the final.
