Was at the match was hard to see the incident but was behind Colm Bonnar and the Meath manager said to him that you should appeal that.

I was beside the incident and seen what happened but won't comment other than to say the referee relied on the linesman. Referee had well lost it at that stage so if I were the Carlow I would be looking for the assessors report.

Interesting to see rumours on the Westmeath forum that three players have been dropped off the panel. The Doyle brothers have not been named in the panel for tomorrow's final.

Regardless if the lads perform like they can we will have a very good chance of gaining promotion. We need a performance similar to the Kerry game in Tralee to win tomorrow but I'm quietly confident. Best of luck lads.

Can't wait for Portlaoise tomorrow, best of luck to the lads. We are surely due a bit of luck after losing 3 out of the last 4 of these finals.

A fact. Hopefully we can do it alright. If we get an inside line of Chris mouse and James d, and they fire, I think we ll shoot them down.. Bang bang! Can't afford to be nice on finals day. There to be won so no sentiment.

And best wishes to paud Dwyer today also with the club final. Another big honour for him and it shows the progress he has made in it.

Brilliant. Would seem more than fitting to bring the trophy out tomorrow at HT. Great stuff and well well done.

Richly deserved and earned after the knee muck dirt of Newry last year. Fair play lads...

Great achievement yesterday- promotion to 1b is great opportunity to pitch ourselves against more challenging opposition and mix it against the upper crust of hurling. It is the result of many years of hard work and hopefully will provide a platform to help drive on development of hurling in the county. Congrats to all involved

Congratulations to Carlow from a disappointed Westmeath hurling fan. I'd say that pound for pound - 5 senior clubs I believe- Carlow are one of the best hurling sides out there and I wish your players all the best in division 1b next year. There's a couple of great forwards there in Mart Kavanagh and Chris Nolan.

Unfortunately I wasn't at the game yesterday never the less judging by reports it was a massive win for Carlow hurling, seven points at the finish, I thought it would have been tighter than that, so great credit to Colm Bonnar and all concerned, the Carlow team and full panel of players.

Great performance yesterday and just rewards for the efforts over the last
two years.

Puts us in the top 12 counties and will have us playing Galway, Waterford, Dublin
Laois and Offaly next year.

Eddie Byrne was brilliant yesterday as was the midfield who won every dirty ball going.
Half back line is so solid and David English caught everything. Great to see Eoin Nolan
back and playing so well and Chris Nolan is a big bonus upfront.

Marty and James Doyle are as skillful and classy as anywhere in the country and deserve to
be playing at the higher level.

Full back line really tightened up in second half and Alfies block when he threw himself in
front of a certain goal showed the committment this team has.

And its still a young team and squad.

Cant wait for the McDonagh cup.

Congratulations to the manager selectors physio's kit men and especially the players on being champions and moving into the top 12 in the country ! Fantastic team performance and is due reward for the effort over past number of years. Delighted for the players.
No player let himself down... All contributed handsomely to the win... We were in the driving seat from early on and dictated affairs. Could have had a few more scores on the board but that's just the way the game goes. Westmeath we're not given the space or time on the ball to construct meaningful attacks. Credit to all.
A pity that Richie Coady s speech was interrupted by Cuala coming on to the field at the end... But it did not hamper the celebrations. A great occasion all round with some class team play in last 15 minutes.
