Replying To Blackbog:  "great result today
onwards and upwards"
Back inbusiness... !!! Let's hope we keep the good work going over the rest of the NHL ... Great result down in Tralee - must also be sweet for Bonnar given he lives in that county. Promotion has to be the end goal this season

I thought he lives in Waterford? I know his brother Cormac lives in Kerry alright. As for the game, huge win, especially by seven points. A loss & the season could be over, thankfully not. Well done lads, great panel there.

You are 100% correct Fergie, it's the other brother Cormac down in Kerry, I was wrong

Hard luck to James Doyle and Marty Kavanagh on IT Carlows loss in the
semi final of the Fitzgibbon Cup last night.

That UL team could win a county All-Ireland but Carlow stuck with them for 45 minutes.

Fair play to the hurlers today.

That was a potential banana skin.

I think it was their fitness that told in the end.

On to the next one!

Good win for the hurlers today with a dominant first half display.

Midfield was very strong and the backs look very solid. Kildare were very poor and have gone back as much as we have gone forward since last years draw.

Westmeath barely beat London so a win next week against Meath should be enough to get us to the final.

If Westmeath beat kerry then we are ahead of kerry on head to head.

If Kerry beat Westmeath we are ahead of Westmeath on scores.

But we have to win up in Navan which will be on before the Meath Cork football match.

Does the winner of the Divisional final go up automatically or is there a playoff with a team potentially coming down from 1B?

Hi, could someone outline how the club hurling competition structures work in Carlow? How many games at senior , intermediateor junior would a club player expect to play? Do your clubs play elsewhere? Thks

Senior champ has 6 teams, play each other once & top 4 in semi then so each team gets at least 5 champ games. Same for inter & junior, few extra teams in those though, maybe 7. Some clubs play in Leinster & Kilkenny leagues also. Majority of these lads would play football too.

Hope we do the business today . i think we will and go on to win league
Really looking foward to Joe Mc Donagh Cup.
6 strong teams not much between any of them
Carlow
Westmeath
Kerry
Laois
Antrim
Meath.
Some great tussels there. All play each other with top two going into Mc Carthy up.
Starts in April all the way to June and beyond for the two top teams
I think it is really good for those counties like ourselves that have made huge strides in recent years.
Unlike Christy Ring Cup there is no easy game which must be good for all

Ya hopefully we get the job done today- straight shoot out then between ourselves and Westmeath for promotion- automatic as I understand it

Good win lads. We need this Div 2A title, since we won it in 2012 and spent our year up in 1B we have lost finals in 14, 16,17 & we're there again in 18. Not getting ahead of myself but both our footballers & hurlers could be promoted next weekend. Has that ever happened anyone before?

Don't know Fergie... Could be a heavy night this day week. On the law of averages Carlow are due to win a 2A final. I actually prefer meeting Westmeath than Kerry having lost to them earlier. We're down a top man the next day though.

JM Nolans red could be appealed very little in it

Was thinking the same thing myself, we will say nothing not to put the hex on it !! Small margins at this level, hurlers have to find a higher gear for the final, we are threading water at this level..as are Westmeath to be fair

To anyone who was in Trim - Is there credible grounds for appealing J M Nolan's red card? Is it being appealed does anybody know.
