(Oldest Posts First)

just like to congratulate the shamrocks on their emphatic ulster title win, well done lads.they've came through Antrim and Ulster this year without really getting out of first gear, now its time for a well earned break, before upping the ante for the Galway men in feb.

Turfcutter, your words just about insulted every other club who contested the senior championship this year. You won't be surprised to learn that quite a number of folk will be hoping that the Galway champs put manners on you.

Certainly agree with Glensboy. That is a very cheeky statement.

TURFCUTTER thanks a lot!!!!!! you have just made me realise why i despise loughgiel . its nothing to do with the team or players ITS THE SUPPORTERS .

Steady on, turfcutter is just one supporter among many; not everyone is complacent about Loughgiel's recent success. I assumed he meant that L'giel are not currently playing to the standard they were in the spring, as opposed to something along the lines of 'they beat the other teams without even trying', but who knows. The championship has been a tough slog so far, particularly the county final against Dunloy which could have gone either way.

From Glensboy to Red mick even the Armagh interloper weren't long rising to the bait.So much anti Loughgiel bigotry, and then blaming their supporters.I'm perfectly sure 98% of Loughgiel supporters don't give a t''s what you think of them. This is the reason why Antrim have never or ever will win anything other than the Ulster title. Too much jealousy of teams that can produce the goods,if you hate Loughgiel so much why not show them that you're as good as they are,and get bloody stuck in there and win an All-Ireland or two,and stop whingeing when somebody else does it.

Bushwhaker- Wind your neck in. This 'victim' complex just doesn't work. Your colleague 'turfchuker' illustrated the lack of respect for other teams competing in the senior hurling championship. You have just endorsed that line. Youse had no dignity for all of the years in the wildnerness, and indeed less in success.

I think what Altview means is that we as a county collective prefer to promote petty rivalry rather than recognise talent and endeavour where it exists.

go back to the days when Antrim were contending. What was one of the key factors? Players from all clubs had a desire and pride to play for the county, regardless of what club they came from. The club rivalry was just as intense. So whats gone wrong today?

Congratulations to Loughgiel on winning another Ulster title and good luck in the A I semi final.
It IS true that by their own standards Loughgiel have not been at their best throughout this years campaign for a few reasons, and while I am not sure what gear they were in, the fact is they did enough to overcome what was in front of them. However in the Ulster final last Sunday they showed by their increased speed + intensity that the training turbo-charger has been switched on and TOP gear will surely be selected soon. Loughgiel are of course a better balanced team with a more experienced squad this year,(regularly picking any 15 from 25) and playing with a confidence that comes from being champions of Antrim, Ulster + Ireland. They also have a hunger for success driven by the belief that if they work hard enough they will be good enough to beat whoever. These are some of the reasons why I know the "anybody but Loughgiel brigade" were already worried about another A I victory, but after reading some of the stupid O T T responses to the initial comment on this thread its obvious that blind panic has set in, and it sounds as of its going to be another long winter for some, who on another day would claim to support Antrim hurling. What idiots

I'll tell you whats gone wrong now glensboy,JEALOUSY not rivalry just by reading redmick and your own comments about the initial thread,ps I could nearly bet youse are both from the same club, does this enlighten you in any way?

No turfchuker, not jealousy. You decided to insult just about every player who contested the senior championship this year. And you wonder why people react to this?

I think you lot need to get over yourselves and show some respect.

And the reason that the antrim team is not doing well at the moment is plain for all to see. Go on turfchuker hazard a guess.

Glensboy need to slow down or you will do yourself an injury. Since when do you speak for "every player who contested the senior championship"? . With your recent rants I doubt if you speak for any player anywhere. Instead of spitting out this constant barrage of jealous anti Loughgiel gibberish, lets hear where and why Turfcutter is so wrong and why all these hurlers are so insulted, it was only an opinion but I think he was largely correct.

Turf chukker- go back and read your opening comment. If you don't get it then it just confirms what I have been saying. Bad losers and ungracious winners.
