First off congrats on your win yesterday - more composed than Mayo when playing with the win.

But have to say that I was surprised that alot of physical challenges by Cork off the ball went unpunished by the ref. The most serious of which was the potentially serious matter of Corks wing back picking up the injured Mayo player by the jersey and bouncing him off the ground when it was clear to see that he has sustained a head injury. I watched the highlights last night to see if he was away from the action to give him the benefit of the doubt but to my shock he was close by to the action when it happened.

You could see the precautions taken in the first game when the Tyrone player got a head injury. Thank God the Mayo player was able to get to his feet afterwards but the action of the Cork player was seriously uncalled for. Hopefully he learn not to do it again as he could have compounded a serious injury by his stupidity.

Roast,

You are correct about Noel O Leary's reaction. It was clear that Vaughan had suffered a bad head injury & O Leary's reaction was appalling. However I soon had no pity for Vaughan, his diving & play acting in the 2nd half was just embarrassing.

If I was a Mayo supporter, id be ashamed of Vaughan's diving on the pitch yesterday.

Congrats on game yesterday, well impressed by Cork. Blew Mayo away when they really wanted to.

What do Cork people think? Ye probably aren't too bothered about actually winning the league but what about the months ahead? Do ye think ye can finally get 1 over Kerry in Croke Park?

As for Noel O Leary - I don't think anything he does surprises me. A bit disappointed with Vaughan, its something that we don't want in GAA but the fact that he's supposed to be Mayo's strong centre back makes his diving all the worse

It always nice to win the league, but at the end of the day championship is all that really matters. Mayo played very well in the 1st half yesterday & I think they could go a long way in this year's championship. I've a feeling we could meet again in possible all-Ireland Q/F or semi final in the summer.

What did ye think of the comments about ye on league sunday last night? No pundit likes Cork because of the way they play? I personally think ye dont have to play the way ye do, Cork have some of the best forwards in the country and could outscore most teams but sure if its not broken then why fix it??

cbar,

Most of the time our style of play is awful to watch. The over use of the handpass is brutal. However there are times when we kick the ball in early to our full forward line that we can do damage as we have some very fine forwards. However this simply does not happen often enough and we revert to handpassing the ball across the field which is a terrible brand of football.

Congrats to Cork - the better team. Mayo could not live with your physicality. When you tackled our forwards you drove them back yards and they could not break the tackles. When Mayo players tried to stop the Cork forwards they just brushed past them. The Cork lads played the referee perfectly, they brought their physicality to the edge. No complaints there. Mayo did the same to other teams earlier in the league. Bit harsh the supporters treatment of Vaughan though. He did get a lot of abuse of the ball, on the ball (and ignored by the ref) and he got little if no support from his own players. Bound to get to him sometime.

I see you condemn Vaughan for diving and I agree but u totally ignore the equally bad Cadogan dive much earlier.

It would mean a lot more if you were even-handed.

As for Noel O all I can say is that it was no surprise. If his antics continue he is going to seriously injure someone or some other hatchet man will do him. Time for a quiet word in his ear.

Cork were far better, well deserved win & well done

Kelf,

Im not ignoring anything. If Cadogan dived then I genuinely didn't see it. The only reason im talking about Vaughans dive was because it was clearly shown on RTE. So you can write off your "even handed" nonsense.
