Blues v Clonlara , any predictions ?

Blues are the local media favourites , but believe this is going to be a very close encounter , Clonlara are on a roll and will be hard to stop.
Clonlara have a very strong half back line and good scoring forwards in Honan, Conlon & Madden . Newmarkets strength and scoring has been from the midfield area especially Collins with Shane O'Brien doing well at centre forward.
Gaffney is a loss to the blues up front so all in all would expect very little between the teams , the hunger to win on the day will be key.

Putting my head on the block will go for the blues to win by 2 pts and end the 27 yr famine.

I said clon would be dangerous and so it proved.

They have some exceptionally skilful players and have really upped the physical stakes., they also young and hungry. Crusheen tried to turn the game into a scrappy affair second half but clon kept the heads and superior skill and stick work proved far too much for Crusheen. N O`Connell was unreal against Crusheen, Madden upped his game, Moloney and the Twins not so bad either.

Newmarket will have it all to do - Clon don`t seem to tire and hurl the last 5 as the first 5 . They also strong in each line up along and have potential matchwinners. They also seem to have that youthful arrogance with no fear. The Munster club run last year was an ideal platform to step up to Senior. A lot of commentary on an ex intermediate club being in the final, that would be fine if the team was full of lads in the mid 20`s but for a team with such a young age 12 months makes a massive difference they now a different outfit to 12 months ago.

Newmarket are the hot favourites no doubt based on the semi but against Cratloe they were very lucky. Beware the Black and Amber

Weather promised poor for the next few days , will have a bearing on the match. Could be low scoring. , nothing between the teams. I presume the Senior B final will be moved from the Park , otherwise the pitch will be in very bad nick
