Meath 4-17
Roscommon 2-16
Joe Sheridan made his return as Meath ran out seven-point winners over Roscommon in tonight's SF Challenge at Kiltoom in aid of the Shalom Centre for Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation in Kenya.
The 32-year-old, who was drafted back into the county panel by new boss Andy McEntee recently after a three-year absence, came on as a half-time substitute between the posts at the St Brigid's club's grounds.
Kevin McStay's more experimental Rossies held the advantage at the interval (2-8 to 1-9) thanks to goals from Andy Glennon and stand-in captain Conor Devaney (penalty) while Donal Keogan found the net for the visitors.
Further goals followed for the Royals after the break from Brian Sheridan (2, 1 penalty), a brother of Joe's, and Fiachra Ward to help them to a comfortable victory in the end.
Roscommon are set to face Kildare at the same venue on Monday, January 2nd, meanwhile, Meath will be back in action tomorrow against neighbours Westmeath.
