The new Casement Park development is set to cost around £110m, according to Northern Ireland’s Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey.

The initial cost of the new Belfast stadium was estimated at £77m back in 2012 but Ms Hargey told a meeting of Stormont's Communities Committee today that the budget had increased due to inflation during a six-year delay, along with changes to the plans amid public safety concerns.

Casement Park has been derelict since it closed its doors back in 2013 with plans to re-develop a 30,000-plus stadium on the Andersonstown Road site.

Ms Hargey met with GAA officials last month at the stadium to discuss future plans for the project.
