Hurling Leagues 2015

(Oldest Posts First)

Can anyone clarify the hurling leagues for next year. If Div 1 is being changed to 8 teams at the end of 2015, does that mean that with 2 teams coming down from Div 1, there is no promotion from DIV2 and does this effect promotion and relegation in the lower leagues?

As far as I am aware it will be 3 down and 1 up for 2015 in divisions 1,2 and 3 with the rest in div4. This will make 8 team leagues in division 1,2 and 3

How many dual clubs will survive in that division 1 then. County is a bloody disgrace. May as well just have a city league.

Looks like its sorted then. Ballygalget down - had heard Clooney Gaels didn't want to go up, and they may get a reprieve over it - doesn't look like it now!

Not sure where you heard that Pulltheball - the 'Gaels are very keen to test themselves in Div 1 this year, and did all they could to ensure promotion at the end of last season. There's no point playing SHC and not getting league games at that level to gain experience.

@Iardheisceart - was a rumour doing the rounds here in Down - not sure where it started, but may have simply been wishfull thinking on Ballygalgets part. Was surprising to all of us as well, as no-one could understand why Clooney Gaels wouldnt want to move up and push on after their great year last year. Look forward to meeting you in the league.
