Well I believe it used to be known as "Gladiators"...

I think the gladiators reference is a bit unfair. In all the games i've played in this year there have been very little dirty incidents. Most teams use it as a reserve league and for blooding youth players and it is a worthwole exercise for most clubs. After 5 years out of the game south antrim has helped me find my feet again and I enjoy the run out on a thursday.

From a hurling point of view, South Antrim is perfectly fine when it is being run well. When referees stop turning up and matches get randomly cancelled, it becomes a bit of a farce. It is true that it is treated as a reserve league, but I would disagree with the notion that it can't be used to blood young players. A season or two in South Antrim would do no young player any harm, and in particular would help their physicality before they break into the senior ranks.
