Hows div 6 going? Pearses and Glenravel setting the pace I see. I think Dunloy will come up from Div 3

from a pearses point of view, ahoghill this weekend will be a better mark. they've beat and been beaten by Galls so it'l give a better indication of progress than the Mitchels games. Still, happy with 4 points on the board.

Hurling leagues start tomorrow. Think divison 4 will be more competitive as divison 4A and 4B are now joined together aswell as the addition of o'donnell's and sean treacys. Think Davitts will just clinch the league carrying on from winning 4B last year

rude awakening for davitts today, dont think they have enough in their locker to make an impact

That's a bold statement for Skillstar to make after the first game of the season. Two soft goals, one just on half time and a clear overcarry missed by the referee, gave St Enda's momentum at the right time. Yes, they deserved to win because they scored more but if they get past the Macs in the Championship, they won't play the same team because there's plenty in Davitts locker. It's a long season ahead

Skillstar, if you read the post I said St. Endas got the breaks at the right time. Simple as! Not disputing the scores!!!

Davitts next 5 games are all very winnable against weaker oppostition, win all those and they are definatly in contention for promotion

I think Antrimman91 is trying to stir it up a bit early. Looking at the fixtures on the website, 3 of Davitts matches are against teams who played in the higher division last year and another is away against a team they just beat last year. The other is an unknown quantity at this stage. So not sure how all these matches are aainst so called weaker opposition?

Maybe weaker opposition was not the right words to choose but they are definatly very winnable games. Davitts comfortably beat mcdermotts in the junior hurling championship the year before last, beat all saints by a few points in the ulster league semi final last year and hammered st agnes in the junior hurling championship last year, all of whom were in a league above davitts.

Results from prevous matches will count for nothing in the leaue. Some teams will have improved from last season and some won't. Only the results will tell us who that is.

Big Shock! - lol. How do you work that one out paddyjohn? Given that the two teams were sitting top of the league before the game I can think of bigger shocks.

it may not be a massive shock, but its worth noting pearses hit 21 wides (includ. 13 frees). Not something to be proud of but scorreline doesnt reflect the game

Didn't see the game myself tomassio so not in a position to comment on how the scoreline reflected the game but from the report I read Glenravel looked to be heading for an easy victory before Pearses put the pressure on in the latter stages of the game and missed a few goal chances.

Anyway, my point was that its not as if Pearses were beaten by a team without a win and who were getting hammered in their games already played. For me that would constitute a big shock and given that Glenravel are sitting top of the table theres no shock in the result. From my point its encouraging to see the lads start the season in Div 6 so well given the age of the team.

So its the midway point in div 3 with St teresas leading the group. Dunloy and tir na nog follow closely and the Ardoyne( the only team to beat the leaders have put a strong run together after a shaky start. Surprise packages O'Donnells are not too far off the the promotion spots either.

Whats the predcitions for the second half are st teresas good enuf to continue their run and win the league or will the likes of randalstown and dunloy overtake them?

Whats the situation in divisions 2 and 4 who are the teams to watch here?
