Loughgile played some great stuff. Ballygalget were dreadful though.

he deserved it, hes been carrying loughgiels hopes for a fair few seasons now and hasnt got the reward that he deserved.

well done to him, he was the best player in ulster this season.

How did he deserve it? In my opinion he wasn't even Loughgiel's best player this year. Liam has been a super player for Loughgiel in recent years and indeed possibly deserved this award before now but have a look at his season in any detail and you'll see he had a superb performance against Cork on TV, was poor against both Dublin and Carlow, got sent off in the National League, his form for Loughgiel read 2 points from play against Dunloy, Cushendall and Keady in the Championship. both Kevin Molloy and Aaron Graffin out hurled him in Championship.

Loughgiel's best player this year was Eddie McCloskey, Antrim's best player was Cormac Donnelly although the best individual performance was Liam Watson v Cork

the best player in ulster is based on those 2 games and he scored more than anyone else. of course he deserved it on that merit. hes a quality player and without him loughgiel look ordinary. hes the class act that wins games for them. yes he does let you down with reckless sending offs but its part of his game.

credit where credits due imo.

Consideration has to be given to the fact that Watson was carrying an injury for a while, but his very presence was an asset to the Shamrocks even though he was not fully fit.I can't see any of the two players mentioned marking him out of the game for long if he was fully fit, better hurlers than them have tried and failed.

Do you go to many games kautostar? Watson was not poor against dublin, caused alot of trouble and havoc, check out pj o'connells goal for instance and you'll see how the ball broke. That day antrim played with an extra man around midfield/halfback and our forwards were always outnumbered and struggled for clean posession, so it was always going to be difficult to score alot of points from play as he did against cork. Also I have no doubt lougheil wouldn't have beaten dunloy in balycastle if it wasn't for watson alone. I don't like the guys attitude but lets give credit where it's due! He's the only real top drawer hurler antrim have at present, fact!

I go to virtually all the games, and stand by my assessment that Liam may be the most gifted hurler in Ulster but in 2010 he wasn't the best player as the POTY award suggests.

Consideration can not be given for his injury, should Shefflin have gotten an all star for his performances considering he was injured.

And he wasn't injured against Dunloy until the last few minutes
