O'Gorman's tough weekend call

July 15, 2005
Dual player Wayne O'Gorman will not be able to make pieces of himself on Saturday with the Wicklow senior footballers having their first outing in the Tommy Murphy Cup in Ballymahon and the senior hurlers involved in a crucial Christy Ring Cup game at Arklow against Mayo. The Glenealy hurler whose late goal was a crucial part of the 2-14 to 3-11 draw last Saturday against Kerry must make a decision whether to remain in Arklow or take the football bus to Longford. Apart from being top scorer in Tralee with 2-1, the ace forward was unlucky to have been penalised unfairly it seems close to the end of the game, when it looked as if he had been fouled and instead was penalised for over carrying the ball. Had the free been given, Wicklow might well have scored the resultant strike and taken full points.
