Stamp quits Wexford
March 23, 2004
Darren Stamp has become the latest player to withdraw from the Wexford hurling squad.
The Oulart-The-Ballagh clubman, who excelled at wing back in Wexford's march to the All-Ireland semi-final last year, did not figure in the recent league games against Tipperary and Limerick, with team management citing a knee injury as the official reason for his non-availability.
However, it was confirmed today (Tuesday, March 23) that Stamp has withdrawn his services. It follows the decision by newcomer Robbie Codd, younger brother of Paul, to quit the panel.
Wexford have endured a miserable league campaign, managing just one win from four outings.
