'I really f*cking love this'

Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald ahead of the All-Ireland SHC quarter-final against Waterford

After all the hustle and bustle of the weekend and the fall out with RTE pundits, Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald is set to take some time out before deciding on his future.

The former Waterford and Clare manager has transformed Wexford into leading contenders for national honours in just his first year in charge.

Nonetheless, the commitment needed to give the role the necessary dedication would put any person close to breaking point.

Fitzgerald now has a chance to look back on the year and see if he has the appetite to go for another year and Wexford supporters will be hoping that he can.

"I'm taking a bit of time to reflect and see what the story is. It's a long drive. I'll consult my family and see what the story is," Fitzgerald told the Wexford People.

"My heart, I really f*cking love this. I don't know what's going to happen. Can I say anything? I'll take a bit of time, but I couldn't speak highly enough of them.

"You'll appreciate it's two hours and 45 minutes down. You leave at one or two in the day and you're not home until one or two at night. It's hard after an All-Ireland quarterfinal to be like that."
