Rochfortbridge ladies review successful year
April 30, 2011
u8s and 10s
This is the future of Rochfortbridge ladies. This group has 50 members and is managed by Marie Larkin and assisted by members of our minor team. These girls partake in mini games throughout the county.
U12s
This is a 25-girl panel, which is guided by team manager Aidan Nolan. This is a very hard working group of girls who we all were very proud of, as they reached their county final but were narrowly beaten by one point.
U14s
Here we have a 20-girl panel, which was managed by Michael O'Sullivan. These girls are truly dedicated to the game of ladies football and reached county semi-final.
U16s
This is a 25-girl panel which also includes some of our U14s. This bunch of girls were managed by Margaret Tracey and Clare Brady. These girls are very committed and they reaped the rewards in 2010 by being crowned county champions after a thrilling game of football against Athlone in Shandonagh.
Minors
Our minor squad was mainly made up of U14s and U16s and was managed by Killian McNay and Mary McGuire.
These girls also reached county final which we lost after a replay to Kinnegad by a solitary point.
Intermediate
This is a 35-girl panel and was managed by Ali Healy and Clare Brady. These girls worked their socks off to reach the county final. There they played Kilbeggan in this final and won in a thrilling game in Cusack Park.
They then progressed into the Leinster junior Championship and beat Mucklee of Kilkenny at home in Rochfortbridge, next they played Ballkelly of Kildare in Ballkelly and came out easy winners. They progressed to the Leinster semi-final to play Edenderry and lost by a few points. This is a very hard-working group of girls and they deserve great praise for representing the club with honour.
