Brady calls for New York / Connacht rethink

May 09, 2013
Former New York selector Frank Brady suggests the Exiles should withdraw from the Connacht SFC.

Having watched his native Leitrim thump New York by 24 points at Gaelic Park on Sunday, Brady pointed out that it was time to have a long hard look at the situation.

"What's next for New York? The harsh reality is that they were totally demolished by supposedly the weakest team in Connacht," the man from Manorhamilton is quoted in The Leitrim Observer.

"The process has to be given a major review. It's one thing to be beaten, but how can a team with limited resources not have all the best players in New York available to play?

"If New York cannot field their best 15, it's time to downgrade or get out of Connacht."
