Another Cavan first
For the second year in a row Cavan has the honor of being the first county to march up Fifth Avenue in the New York City St. Patrick's Day parade. Last year St. Patrick's day fell on a Saturday, the weather was wonderful and the crowds unbelievable; an estimated two million people lined Fifth Avenue to watch a fantastic parade. This years parade will also take place on Saturday March 16th, since St. Patrick's day falls on Sunday the 17th.
Again this year the Cavan Association will hold its post parade party at St. Stephen's of Hungary on 82nd street in Manhattan. There will be great music and entertainment, wonderful food and a chance for friends and family, young and old to be together and celebrate a very special day.
From all the Cavan people in New York to all those at home, a very Happy St Patrick's Day.
