Brooklyn Shamrocks to Host Sam

February 22, 2010
The Brooklyn Shamrocks club of New York  will host The Sam Maguire Cup on Saturday the 27th of February next in  what may be a first for Kings County. The historic Trophy will be available to the public as it crosses the Brooklyn Bridge  at Leifs Bar, 6725 5th avenue Bay Ridge, from 11 am to 1 pm with special guests Maurice Fitzgerald and Dara O'Se its travelling companions. The two former County stars have a slew of All-star, All Ireland and National League medals between them and this will be a brilliant opportunity for the youth as well as adult Brooklynites to meet the players and also get their hands on the Sam Maguire. Brooklyn Shamrocks have a growing underage movement in the last five years with the side active at under 8, 10, 12 and 14 in the New York Minor Board. For the current players as well as parents and supporters , this presents an excellent opportunity to meet and chat with the former Kerry Superstars, Maurice and Dara, while also holding the Cup. For those parents and players who have had thoughts of playing football, what a fantastic  introduction next Saturday provides.
All are welcome to Saturdays festivities, with directions or information available from John Moore at 646-321-4021.
