Michael Cusack v Indianapolis

June 24, 2009
SUNDAY PREVIEW MICHAEL CUSACK H.C. V INDIANAPOLIS H.C.   This Sunday June 28th the Indianapolis Hurling Club will travel to take on the Michael Cusack Hurling Club at Chicago's Gaelic Park. The throw in for the rematch of the North American Junior C Hurling Final is set for 1:15pm. The two clubs met last Labor Day. Each club faced down several opponents on their road to the Final. 2008 was the debut year for the Cusack's while it was Indianapolis' second year on the national scene having reached the semi-finals in 2007. The 2008 Final between Indianapolis and the Michael Cusack's was as exciting and intense as any Final a spectator is likely to see. The Cusack's early points were answered in kind shortly before an Indianapolis goal. The match would remain point for point for the duration but the men from Chicago would find themselves on the lesser end of the scoreboard at the final whistle. But, their performance was second to none and the Yanks earned themselves the recognition they so aptly deserved. This rematch will undoubtedly prove to be just as exciting as their first encounter last Labor Day. The Cusack's especially will be looking to even the score and Indianapolis will certainly be wanting to leave Chicago's hallowed Gaelic Park as victors. The Michael Cusack Hurling Club was founded in early 2008 as an opportunity where Americans could learn the sport and those from the youth program could continue to play. In their inagural year they displayed the passion and ability that exists for the sport among Americans. They competed against the senior clubs in Chicago as well as in tournaments in St. Louis, Indianapolis and Madison, WI. And, then became the first all American club from Chicago to enter into the North American Championships.
