Former Mayo star Ciaran McDonald
Veteran forward Ciaran McDonald has been linked with a return to intercounty football with Mayo after an 18-month absence.
McDonald has not played a competitive match for Mayo since the end of 2007 but speculation that he is on the brink of a return to action is growing within the county.
Mayo play Derry in the final round of the National Football League today (Sunday) without McDonald but the Crossmolina playmaker could return to the county colours in time for the first round of the Connacht Senior Championship against New York on May 10th.
