Galway defender Anthony Tuohy will not face any further disciplinary action arising from an incident in last Sunday's All-Ireland hurling semi-final with Tipperary's Patrick Maher.

Maher's helmet had come off during the first-half of the crunch clash at Croke Park while both men were competing for the ball and it was feared that Tuohy could serve the same one-match suspension which Waterford's Tadhg de Búrca was hit with after appearing to interfere with the faceguard of Wexford's Harry Kehoe.

However, the Irish Independent reports this morning that Tuohy has been given the green light for the All-Ireland final on September 3rd, as the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) felt that the Beagh clubman had no case to answer after reviewing video footage of the incident.

It will come as a huge relief to the Leinster champions who vie for their first Liam McCarthy Cup victory since 1988 against either Cork or Waterford four Sundays from now.
