Limerick GAA officials and one of the country's top music promoters are believed to have discussed the possibility of staging a concert at the Gaelic Grounds.

Reports in the Limerick Leader suggest that talks were held this week between the relevant parties and there is a possibility that a leading act could play at the venue.

A source told the Leader: "We are looking at a category A performer to cater for the 50,000 capacity venue. It is a realistic possibility for this summer.

Such acts as One Direction, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus are due to play in Ireland this year and one of them could grace the Ennis Road venue. Tweet
