Club win better than Croker victory
November 02, 2007
Athleague's Mervyn Connaughton admitted nothing compares to winning with your club mates after last weekends victory over Padraig Pearses.
Connaughton has had the honour of winning silverware in the GAA home of Croke Park but the Athleague talisman revealed last week's win felt much better.

"You can't beat the feeling of winning with your club," explained Connaughton.
The free-taker felt his team-mates upped their overall game from the drawn encounter.
"More of our players hurled well and got stuck in early on. We were first to everything. We upped our game in general from the drawn game," noted Connaughton
