'We are underdogs' - Connaughton
August 10, 2007
Roscommon hurling captain Mervyn Connaughton believes that his side will enter Saturday's Nicky Rackhard Cup final with Armagh as underdogs based on their opponents better league form in the NHL Division 2.
"I'd say that we are probably underdogs going into it. Looking at Armagh's performances during the year in Division 2, they have definitely been playing at a level ahead of what we have been playing at. They've a small forward line.
"We'll be up against it. We haven't had a good tough game since the Sligo game in the league. We've had a couple of good challenge games. Definitely it's a huge step up.
"It's all about silverware at the end of the day because we haven't won too many hurling title sin Roscommon. It's nice to be in the Christy Ring Cup next year but it would be nice to be there as champions," Connaughton said.
