Nigel Dineen has been chosen to become the new Roscommon U21 football manager in succession to Jimmy Gacquin.

Dineen, who was one of the top forwards for the Rossies throughout the 1990's, was a selector with the team when they won the Connacht title for the first time in 11 years last year.

The committee appointed to select the Rossies U21 manager will recommend to the County Executive that Dineen be appointed to the position.

Subject to approval, his name will then be put before clubs for ratification at next Thursday's County Board Meeting. Tweet
