McAnarney injured as Geraghty sent off
July 02, 2008
Clan Na nGaels Shane McAnarney recieves attention for his facial injury during their Meath IFC clash with Dunderry at Sean Newman Park.
It was not a great night for Clann na nGael or their two intercounty men as they lost out to Dunderry in the IFC, with both Shane McAnarney and Graham Geraghty not finishing the game for different reasons.
The Athboy-An Gaeltacht combination lost out to neighbours Dunderry by 0-11 to 0-7 on the night when Geraghty was sent off for two yellow card offences by referee Gerry O'Brien.
However, it had already been a bad night for Clann as Shane McAnarney had been assisted off the pitch after sustaining a broken nose after a collision with Meath hurler Ted Dowd, with the Dunderry man getting a red card.
The incident places a question mark over McAnarney's participation in Meath's qualifier game with Limerick in two weeks time.
