Na Fianna had a good win over St Michaels in this second round IFC match played in Athboy.

St Michaels were first off the mark and had two points on the scoreboard before half forward Declan Brennan scored Na Fianna's opening point in the 4th minute. Midfielder Ronan McMahon added another for Na Fianna and goals from full forwad Jamie Queeney and Brennan put Na Fianna into a good lead. However the Michaels fought back with a string of points to narrow the gap. Na Fianna's centre forward Diarmuid Bailey added another points to see Na Fianna's lead advance. However St Michaels finished strongly with further four unanswered points to leave the half time score at 2-3 to 0-8 for Na Fianna.
The winners, playing with the benefit of the wind in the second half were first off the mark with a Queeney free. Furhter points from Bailey, Queeney and a fine effort from corner back Davy Lyons stretched Na Fianna's lead. As time ran out Na Fianna were well in conrtrol and further points from Brennan(2) and a Queeney free saw Na Fianna finish deserved winners.
Jason Henrick around the middle of the field rolled back the years and put in a great performance and he was well supported by goalkeeper Shane Geraghty, backs Christy Cosgrave, Lyons, Dean Henrick and John Baldwin, Tommy Cosgrave worked hard in midfield while forwards Bailey, Brennan, & Queeney were always a threat.
