Ratoath's Ger McCullagh and Drumconrath's Austin Hickey battle for possession during the Meath IFC at Walterstown
By virtue of Dunderry beating Syddan by five points and topping Group B, Drumconrath slipped into the quarter-finals of IFC by a single point in scoring difference with Syddan crashing out on the scored for rule as St Colmcilles managed more scores over the four games. Ratoath 0-11 Drumconrath 0-8 Drums opened well and should have been 1-3 up in the early stages but the failure to capitalize on these chances gave Ratoath hope and Drums led by a single point at the break, 0-6 to 0-5. Two early second half points seemed to put Drumconrath in control but they where to be their last scores. Ratoath picked off their points and six in a row saw them gain their only win so far as Dunderry did Drumconrath a big favour. The Reds need to pick up the pieces as the now face a rampant Donaghmore/Ashbourne in the Quarter Final.
