Wayward Drums lose unbeaten record

June 12, 2005
Drumconrath managed 12 wides, the majority scoreable, and dropped a number of efforts short as Ballivor clawed their way back into the IFC in Martry on Friday evening 10th June. Ballivor 2-9 Drumconrath 1-11 The North Meathmen lined out without centre field pairing from the last few matches Austin Hickey and David McDonald both out injured but still managed to dominate long spells of the game only for Ballivor to capitalize on mistakes to notch two goals and a number of easy points. On a night that if we had Ducks they would have drown claims for a legitimate penalty were waved away as golden opportunities where squandered epically in the 1st and 3rd quarters and it the last 5 minutes as we where rocked by Ballivors 2nd goal against the run of play to go 4 points down with 8 minutes left. Ballivor hit just 4 wides for the hour to notch their 2nd victory. Best for the Red and White Pete McMahon, Jamie Myles, Terry Skelly, Ronan McGahon and Wayne Reilly. Drumconrath: Sean Kane; Brian Flanagan, Kevin Flanagan, Peter Tighe; Wesley Byrne, Pete McMahon[0-1], Jamie Myles; Paddy Reilly, Terry Skelly[1-0]; Ronan McGahon[0-1], Ollie McMahon[0-1], Paul Tighe[0-1]; Stephan Crosby, Wayne Reilly[0-5], Shane Byrne[0-1]. Subs; Alan Byrne for Crosby, Kevin Farrelly[0-1] for O McMahon, Paul Carey for W Byrne and Sean Reilly for Myles[inj].
