Trim had a hard earned but deserved win over Dunshaughlin in very wet conditions in as they gained revenge for their defeat in last year's Keegan Cup decider.  Trim 1-12 Dunshaughlin 1-8   Dunshaughlin took an early lead and were 1-1 to no score after three minutes. The Dunshaughlin goal came after Brendan Kealy retrieved a ball going wide punching it to Trevor Dowd who finished it off. Trim's first point from Declan Murray was crucial in settling the team. Trim began to dominate at midfield with Ronan Fitzsimons and Frankie Murphy getting good possession. A Michael McHale injury restricted Dunshaughlin in the area. Trim made the possession count with points from Michael Lowther and Paul Gilsenan and the sides were level at 0-6 to 1-3 at half time. Dunshaughlin started the second half well and opened a three-point lead. Trim pulled back with Fitzsimons more and more influential in creating scores while Trim's half back line of Robert Brennan, Darren Fay and Maurice Power got a lot of breaking ball. Trim had pulled back to a point deficit when Benny Murray set up Declan Murray for a goal. Trim added points to gain a five point lead and Dunshaughlin replied with a late point. Trim now have eight points from five games but need another win to ensure qualification for the quarter finals. Best for Trim were Ronan Fitzsimons, Robert Brennan, Darren Fay and Michael Lowther.
