Minnows Cortown without suspended county star Glen Loughran caused a huge shock when getting the better of star studded neighbours Dunderry at Pairc Tailteann on a 3-8 to 1-12 scoreline.
The pre-match favourites did all the early running and soon established a 1-6 to 1-1 advantage. But spirited Cortown hung on and the highlight of their second half comeback was two tremendous goals from Gordan Codd a county under 21 star in 2000.
Midfielder Paul O'Brien scored Cortown's opening goal, while veteran Sean Kelly notched 1-1 for Dunderry.
