Sheridan stuck in limbo

March 27, 2002

Cathal Sheridan with Kehoe Cuo '04
Cathal Sheridan has been left without a football club after the Co. Board refused his transfer to Summerhill. The former All-Ireland medal winner was expected to be a Summerhill player by now after he looked for an intercounty transfer from Kilcock in Kildare to Summerhill. The former Moynalvey player's transfer was refused by the Meath Co. Board on Monday night and he will now have to appeal the decision to the Leinster Council. Sheridan has been training with the Summerhill footballers since January but has been unable to participate in competitive action with the side. Sheridan's hurling transfer to Kiltale went through without a hitch and as such he is eligible to play with the Meath hurlers, and he has played in Meath's last three NHL games. It is believed that the Co. Board are unhappy that Sheridan is not returning to his native Moynalvey club and refused the transfer because of this.
