Farrell can't stop scoring
February 10, 2003
Nobber's Brian Farrell was on fire in the scoring stakes last week at a time when the Meath teams forwards can't punch their way through a wet paper bag.
Farrell scored 1-11 as Nobber beat Drumbaragh in the ACFL Division 4 early in the week and then accounted for 1-5 as Dundalk IT shocked IT Tralee in the Sigerson Cup on Thursday afternoon.
Scoring 1-5 as Dundalk knocked out one of the favourites for this year's Sigerson Cup is a massive achievement for the young Nobber lad, with his first half goal helping the college to parity at the interval. The win was even more note worthy when you consider that Farrell's Nobber team-mate, Gavin Farrelly, received a red card in the second half.
Farrell's good form compares favourably with that of the Meath forwards in the NFL at the moment. If the displays against Laois and Cavan are anything to go by, then Farrell can hardly be left off the panel for any longer.
