(after extra-time)
Rathkenny booked their place in the last four of the hoganstand.com Meath SFC with a battling extra-time victory over neighbours Seneschalstown at Pairc Tailteann.
Inspired by Donal Keogan at centre-back, midfielder and captain John Donegan and corner-forward Owen Elliott, Des Lane's charges were full value for their one point winning margin.
Seneschalstown made the brighter start with points from Brian Sheridan and Ciaran Macken but Rathkenny took over in pole position when hitting three points without reply from Brian Lenehan, Elliott and Jack Gore.
County star Joe Sheridan restored parity but that proved to be the Yellow Furze side's last score of the opening period and Rathkenny went in at the break with 0-7 to 0-3.
Donegan sent over a fine effort with the outside of his left boot for the team in red and black and Gore, Lenehan and Elliott also added to their individual tallies.
The second half exchanges were nip and tuck and that suited Rathkenny as the clock approached the 60 minute mark but Brian Clarke came to Seneschalstown's rescue when netting a goal to force extra-time.
Rathkenny played against the wind in the first period of extra-time and they would have been quietly confident as the teams changed ends after matching Seneschalstown's two points.
Jack Gore and the evergreen Donal Curtis established a two point cushion for the eventual winners during the second period and all Andrew McCann's side could muster in reply was a white flag from substitute Robert Ruddy.
Rathkenny's reward is a semi-final date with Summerhill.
