Walterstown opened the brighter in this encounter with the first three points of the game through Tom Walsh, Charles McCarthy and Alban Crosbie. St Pats responded with a Barry Campbell free before another point by Walsh after good play by Joey Farrelly and McCarthy stretched walterstown lead to 0-4 to 0-1.
The East Meath side hit the next six scores of the game to lead by three points, 0-7 to 0-4, before Walterstown landed the last three points of the half. Michael Clarke, Crosbie and Mark McCormack pointed to leave the teams level at the break, 0-7 apiece.
Walterstown got the first score of the second half through Crosbie following a good pass by Conor Sullivan. Pat's replied with a Campbell free before the Blacks went ahead again through Walsh. St Pat's then got 1-3 without reply, with the goal coming from Niall Mooney.
Walterstown got a point back through Charles McCarthy before Pat's got the next score and Walterstown finished their scoring through Walsh.
