Kilmainhamwood advanced to the Intermediate Quarter-finals thanks to their third draw of the year in group B when the drew with Castletown in Drumcondrath on Saturday evening.
Castletown got the perfect start as the scored a well worked goal to open the scoring. Harry Corbally responded with a point from play with Ray Magee point reducing the deficit for the wood. Catletown responded with 3 points with two of those coming from play. Magee pointed a free for the Wood and Castletown responded with a point. During the first half the wood spurned numerous goal chances.

Magee opened the second half scoring with a free. Castletown once again responded with a free. Michael Shankey then pointed for the Wood and Magee slotted over another free. Castletown responded with a brace a points from play. Magee pointed another free and shortly after got the Woods only goal with a superb finish to draw the sides level. The Wood then went in front for the first time in the game through a Aiden Crosbie free. Castltown responded with a pointed free and a point from play. Magee finished the scoring with a point from play to leave it level at full time.
Kilmainhamwood's best players were Damien Cunningham, Michael Shankey, Ray Magee and Sean Mulligan.
