Kilmainhamwood 0-11 Cortown 0-6 Kilmainhamwood started off brightly with the wind and Ray Magee got the first score of the day with a well taken point in the 3rd minute. Cortown responded with a point from play in the 5th minute. Magee then hit over a free in the 7th minute. Cortown responded with a free in the 10th minute. Magee kept the scoreboard ticking over with a free in the 12th minute. Magee then got another point from play in the 20th minute. Blood Sub Aidan Crosbie scored a point from play in the 22nd minute. The Wood kept up the pressure with the assistance of the wind and hit three further points through a David Russell 45 in the 26th minute and a brace of points through Magee in the 23rd and 29th minute to lead by 0-8 to 0-2 at the break. Cortown started the second half brightly with a brace of scores in the 32nd and 36th minute. The Wood responded with a point from centre forward Francis Owens in the 48th minute. Magee pointed from play in the 53rd minute. Cortown had a great oppurtunity to goal but the Combination of keeper Michael Clarke and Damien Cunningham. Andy Farrelly then pointed a free for the wood to leave seven points between the sides. Cortown pushed forward trying to get something out of the game and got a brace of points in the 59th and in injury time to close the gap to five points but the Wood held out for a well deserved win.
