Kilmainhamwood's second team continued their good start to the Division 4 B league campaign with a four point win against St Pats in the north Meath sides home pitch on Saturday evening.
Kilmainhamwood got the first score on the board through a david russell free. However in the opening quarter the Stamullen based side dominated proceedings and scored a brace of points. Against the run of play a the Wood scored a goal from Damian Russell. The Pats responded with another brace of points while the home side got a point from David Russell. Damian Russell then got his second major of the day with a fine finish. Pats responded well with three points on the trot. David Russell added another free to leave the wood 2 points in front at half time, 2-3 to 0-7.
Pats got the first point of the second half to leave the minimum between the sides. Full Back Alan Carolan then slotted over a 45 for the home side which was quickly folled by a point from Peter Kiernan. Pats then got another point. Veteran midfielder Aidan Crosbie then added on a point from play for the home side which was followed by another Carolan 45 and a David Russell point Pats responded with a brace of points. A point from David Russell finished the scoring for the day.
Best on the day for the Wood were Peter Kierans, A;an Carolan, Aidan Crosbie and the Russell twins.
