Lennon eager for glory

August 24, 2006
The Tommy Murphy Cup final allows Louth full forward Shane Lennon to showcase his skills on the big stage and the 21-year-old is determined to put on a good performance against Leitrim. Lennon is the competition's top scorer, having clocked up an impressive 4-11 in three matches and the Kilkerley forward has regained his form after a poor start to the season. Having been dropped for the latter stages of the league campaign and the subsequent final, Lennon missed out on Louth's All-Ireland campaign. However, Louth fans have been delighted with his return to form and he will be instrumental in Sunday's final, along with being determined to impress on the national stage. "I had a bit of a loss in form earlier this year after a few injuries but once I got a few club games under my belt I was able to get my confidence back up again," said Lennon.
