Longford football star Paul Barden produced a man of the match performance as Clonguish retained their Longford SHC crown with a comfortable victory over Longford Slashers at Pearse Park. Enda Corcoran scored the winners' first goal in the 23rd minute and he struck again early in the second half to extend Clonguish's advantage to 3-10 to 1-3. But with county star Gareth Ghee a constant threat, Slashers never gave up and added three more goals to their tally before the finish. However, Clonguish's grip on the JJ Duignan Cup was never under serious threat.
