Longford football star Paul Barden produced a man of the match performance as Clonguish retained their Longford SHC crown with a comfortable victory over Longford Slashers at Pearse Park. Clonguish…………3-15 Longford Slashers…4-6 Barden scored 1-3 from wing forward and his goal just before half-time helped the Newtownforbes side to a 2-7 to 1-3 interval lead. Enda Corcoran scored the winners' first goal in the 23rd minute and he struck again early in the second half to extend Clonguish's advantage to 3-10 to 1-3. But with county star Gareth Ghee a constant threat, Slashers never gave up and added three more goals to their tally before the finish.
