All Star nomination for Quane
November 01, 2002
Limerick midfielder John Quane has been honoured for having such a successful year by being nominated for this year's All-Stars which will be presented on November 29.
The Galtee Gaels clubman had an outstanding year for the Shannonsiders as they once again ran Kerry close, then they beat Offaly and Cavan in the 'back door sytem' before eventually losing narrowly to Mayo.
Quane is one of six nominated for midfield as Dara O'Se, Ciaran Whelan, Paul McGrane, John Gildea and Dermot Earley are also nominated for the two positions.
Limerick manager Liam Kearns was delighted for the towering midfielder and feels that he deserved the nomination.
"I am delighted for him, maybe even one or two others could have been nominated, but it is a sign of where Limerick football is. We also have six on the Munster panel - Tommy Stack, Michael Reidy, John Quane, John Galvin, Damien Reidy and Stephen Lucey.
