David Breen has been appointed Limerick hurling captain for the coming year.

The 27-year-old was nominated by his club Na Piarsaigh following their historic county and Munster championship successes last year, and will be the first player from the city club to captain the Treaty County. He has been a member of the Limerick panel for the past three years and will now lead the team under their new manager John Allen. Tweet
