NFL 4: Ryan inspires second Treaty win

Limerick 0-11
Carlow 0-7
Ian Ryan kicked 0-6 as Limerick maintained their early bid for promotion from Division Four of the National Football League with a four-point win over Carlow last night at Kilmallock.
The winners were in control from the throw-in as their lethal full-forward combination of Ger Collins, Cormac Joyce-Power and Ryan went to work on the visitors to open up a three-point lead.
Carlow pulled back a few points, but they missed their big chance just before the break when they were awarded a penalty in the added minutes which Simon Rea failed to convert and they trailed by 0-6 to 0-3 at half-time.
Mickey Ned O'Sullivan's team raced out of the traps in the second-half and kicked four points without reply, three of which came from the faultless Ryan, which was enough to secure a second win in as many games, despite the Barrowsiders' best efforts in the closing stages.
