McCarthy taking it one game at a time

Laois manager Teddy McCarthy is not looking beyond Sunday's league opener against Offaly.

The Cork native has adopted the approach of not looking beyond the next game and that is the clash against the Faithful County in Tullamore.

Laois face a tough campaign and McCarthy knows the importance of getting off to a good start in the league, if they are to have any chance of promotion.

"The only game I'm interested in is against Offaly," McCarthy admitted to the Leinster Express. "You can't have dreams unless you take things one game at a time, and we will get that competitive nature into our play.

"It is a very competitive league and whoever wins it, it is going to stand to them for the championship in May. All six teams want to be in the final, and we want to win every game that we play."
