Butler takes up Laois role

September 21, 2011

Paudie Butler
Paudie Butler has been appointed as Master Hurling Coach in Laois.

Securing the services of the National Hurling Coordinator represents a real coup for the O'Moore County, where former Laois manager Butler has already begun drawing up a coaching programme to be circulated around secondary schools in the county. The programme should be ready to roll within ten days.

Tipperary man Butler will also offer coaching courses to club juvenile coaches around the county.

Butler's appointment follows on from the publication of the Laois Hurling Report for 2011. It has also been proposed that a new four-region coaching structure be implemented, with a hurling centre of excellence and director of hurling being put in place.

Laois also hope to appoint four full-time hurling coaches.
