Wolfe Tones na Sionna won the Clare Ladies Intermediate League final and have taken home the Tony Mulcahy Cupdefeating Liscannor on Saturday 20th May in a game played at the Roslevan grounds in Ennis.
Liscannor did all the early runningand had the ball in the Wolfe Tonesnet after just threeminutes of play from a fine Katie Foley effort.
Wolfe Tones Danielle McMakin , who was player of the game, pointed in the fifth minute and this was followed a minutelater with a good goal from Louise Raleigh for the Tones. Further Shannon points followed fromStephenie Regan and again Danielle McMakin .Wolfe Tones put the game more or less beyond reach with goals from Susan McNamara in the twentiethminute followed a minute later by a similar score from Danielle McMakin. Liscannor finished the half with a point from an Olivia Lucas free to leavethe half time score Wolfe Tones 3 -3 Liscannor 1 - 1
In the second half it was a muchcloser affair with the winners outscoringLiscannor by just five points to three.
Ten minutes in to the second half Susan McNamara opened the scoring for Wolfe Tones with a point and thiswas quickly followed by apoint for Liscannor from Carmel Considine. Wolfe Tones added three more points from Louise Raleigh,Ciara McCaul and Stephenie Regan to complete their tally.
Liscannor had two late points fromOliva Lucas and Claire Frawley to leave the scores as stated.
