Leinster Minor B Final Kildare 5-16 Laois 1-11
Sarsfields GAA was the venue for this much anticipated Leinster final clash against neighbours Laois and the Newbridge club had the pitch and facilities in top condition. Despite a lot of possession in the first half, Kildare only found themselves four points up at the break. Emer Fogarty brought her scoring boots and scored an impressive eight points in the opening half as well as winning a penalty which was converted by the full forward from Celbridge, Orla Gowran. Kildare were dominating in most positions on the field and the spectators were shown some top class defending from Michaela Nolan, Rachel Corrigan and the very impressive Ciara Conaty who all worked tirelessly to cut out numerous attacks from Laois. Gowran scored another two points in the opening half and Connolly and Trina Duggan snatched another two points. Half time score Kildare 1-12 Laois 1-8. Fogarty continued to dominate in the opening stages of the second half and within ten minutes she had scored 2-1. Kildare half time substitute Shannon Doheny snatched another point to stretch Kildares lead. Gowran added Kildares fourth goal just before Kildare were awarded their second penalty of the game. Having converted the first one, Gowran slotted the ball past the Laois keeper for the second time from the penalty spot but her hat trick of the game. Doheny added another to increase the lead which was quickly followed by another Fogarty point. At this point, Kildare were on top all over the field and cleared the bench to freshen things up. The young lilies went on to record a memorable 17 point victory over Laois. This was an exceptional performance from this team who have been improving with each step of the Leinster championship. Rebecca McGuirk had a relatively quiet day in the goals but dealt with anything that came her way. The full back line excelled in this game and although Eimear Fogarty won the 'player of the game' award, Moorefields Ciara Conaty had to be a close second. The Curley twins worked tirelessly in the half back line bursting through given the chance and always ably assisted by Leah Earley on the wing. Midfield worked well and Shannon Doheny was introduced for Eadaoin Connolly at half time. Caoimhe Hynes worked hard in the middle making good contributions of the ball. The half forward line worked possibly the hardest they have worked all year in a Kildare jersey. Grace Clifford, Emer Fogarty and Roisin Byrne stole the show with their passing, determination and scoring and demonstrated to the spectators all that is right with ladies football in Kildare. Orla Gowran was the most impressive inside forward and showed a calm collected side to put away two penalties in a Leinster final. Well done to the management team of Davy Burke and Kim Turner who have put in a lot of work with this team. U16 division 2 final Kildangan/ Nurney 5-9 Naas 5-5
This division 2 final certainly lived up to all expectations .It started with a flourish as Louise Scully corner forward for Kildangan / Nurney slotted home a fine goal to provide her team with the ideal start within the first few seconds of the match. Naas recovered well and composed themselves,replying with a point from their corner forward Laura Lahart. This was closely followed by another point from Saoirse Ferguson playing at full forward for Naas after a fine passing movement from her fellow forwards .Kildangan / Nurney replied with another goal rewarding a fine passage of play by their midfield who distributed the ball very sharply into the full forward line and Louise Scully obliged with another goal. Naas mid field pairing Ciara Brown and Chelsea Crowe worked tirelessly and effectively, ably assisted by their centre forward Niamh Bergin who secured a point to leave them two points in arrears at this stage of the first half. Kildangan/ Nurney continued to exert further pressure as Lauren Kelly , their right corner forward launched an attack resulting in a deflection by the Naas goalkeeper Amy Creaton for a forty- five, who was a stalwart for Naas on the day. This free was taken by Louise Scully finding Muireann Scully and Louise Scully ran on for return pass and scored a point off this well worked move. Kildangan / Nurney extended their lead with another point, but Naas were not daunted and competed for every ball and came right back with two great goals courtesy of Laura Lahart and Niamh Bergin in quick succession. This left Kildangan / Nurney leading by a single point at the half time whistle. Half time score Kildangan/ Nurney 3-2 Naas 2-4. The opening score of the second half was another point for Kildangan/ Nurney from Louise Scully followed by another point as a result of a free. She was having a great game and was very influential in her team's progress. Naas applied further pressure and cleverly strung some fine passes together to penetrate the Kildangan / Nurney defence to allow Saoirse Ferguson to slot home a goal. Both teams were now in contention for honours as they were on level terms with ten minutes remaining. Kildangan / Nurney edged ahead with a great individual point from Kellie Griffin who won the ball in the centre, turned, beat her marker and scored. Naas responded with another well struck goal by Saoirse Ferguson following a fine interception from Naas defender Laura Naughton ably supported by centre back Aisling Gralton while the other Naas defenders Kelly Perkins ,Megan ODriscoll and Anna Begley all did Trojan work for the entire match.Kildangan / Nurney continued to edge ahead with further scores from Kellie Griffin and great work from Grace Nealon and Ciara Byrne at midfield put Lauren Kelly into space resulting in a spectacular shot into the Naas net. .This was followed by a goal from Sabrina Kennedy leaving a seven point deficit to Naas. The Naas team rallied and showed great character each and every player as their midfield Ciara Brown and Chelsea Crowe won great ball and the half forwards Niamh Bergin , Mary Creaton and Shauna Weldon linked up very well with their full forward line Laura Lahart, Saoirse Ferguson,Jennifer O' Donovan and the other squad players Hannah Hevernan Aisling Moloney,Ciara Dunne and Roisin OToole who all contributed when they entered the fray. This effort secured another goal for Naas leaving only four points between the teams. There were many dramatic moments at the end as Naas were deprived some fine goal chances by the vigiliant goalkeeper for Kildangan/ Nurney Marie Fitzgerald .Naas could consider themselves very unlucky as they drew on all their energies to reverse the score but all credit to Kildangan/ Nurney they held steadfastly to their lead and were worthy victors on this occasion. This was a tremendous game featuring two very committed and determined teams; both teams a credit to their respective clubs and mentors. All the supporters were treated to a very exciting game played in true sporting fashion. U16 Division 2 shield final Kill 4-7 Confey 4-4
This division 2 shield final turned out to be a cracking game of football. Kill were 12 points adrift just after half time when Confey came out with all guns blazing and scored 2 goals and a point in the first 7 mins of the second half. Kill had opened the scoring with a well taken goal from Rosin Kealy, the three forwards for Kill were having a great game with Gemma Byrne really holding up the ball and making some great lay offs. Confey having being 5 points up at half time were now 12 points ahead and it looked as though it was game over or so the spectators thought. Kill had other ideas. Kill dug deep and with a great team effort started slowly pulling back points with Lydia Furey and Aishling Cahill dominating mid-field, sisters Ciomhe and Emer Broderick were scoring from play, there was great defensive work from another set of sisters Cliona and Aibhian Lenihan. Suddenly after two quick goals from Shauna Bates and Hayley Nolan it was a draw with about 5 mins to play. Confey upped their game and showed some great passing moves to threaten the Kill goal but great interceptions and stops from the defensive line of Katie Buckley, Ciomhe Brady, Anna Stenson, Jade Carter and goalie Danielle Gannon kept Kill in the game and started a movement from the back through mid-field that resulted in Hayley Nolan scoring the winning goal. Kill will put this comeback down as their greatest in ladies football to date.

U16 Div 4 final St Brigids 3-11 Monasterevin 4-5
St Brigids won a thrilling final, hitting the front for the first time with a last minute goal to secure a first county title for the combined Athgarvan/Kilcullen team in their third year as a combined unit. It was Monasterevin who got off to a flying start, with Aine Nash looking dangerous every time she got on the ball and quickly putting 2-2 on the scoreboard. With the wind behind them, Brigids then began to dominate and clawed back to level pegging, mainly thanks to seven points from the trusty left foot of Kildare U14 county player Samantha Cullen. A late point from Monasterevin meant they led 2-3 to 0-8 at half time. The second half saw Monasterevin once again taking control. With Aine Nash being well shackled by Brigids' Laura Quigley, it was Aoife Stapleton who took up the scoring responsibility for Monasterevin with two sublime left foot strikes, while the Brigids keeper Lauren Hurley made a number of vital saves to keep the score down. With ten minutes to go Monasterevin were ahead by 4-5 to 0-8, but then came a fight back of epic proportions as a long-range goal from Kate Quigley was followed by points from the excellent Daire Smyth and Samantha Cullen. Kayleigh Humphries had been securing vital possession throughout for Brigids and finally found her scoring range with a goal and a point to tie the match up with two minutes to go. Then Brigids centre back Nikki Dowling stormed forward to blast a rocket into the top corner with virtually the last kick of the game to break Monasterevin hearts. In truth, football was the winner in a high quality game played in a great spirit and expertly refereed by Eoin Clifford which neither side deserved to lose. But it was St Brigids' joint captains Daire Smyth and Samantha Cullen, who along with Monastservin's Aine Nash and Aoife Stapleton, were the match's outstanding players that lifted the trophy amidst jubilant celebrations from the Brigids girls, all 21 of whom had contributed to an outstanding unbeaten season.

Division 2 Castlemitchell 2-09 Maynooth 1-11
Orlaith Kirwan got the visitors off to a good start with a goal and 2 points in this round 4 clash. Nicola Lawless and Mary Lawless (3pts) settled Castlemitchell with some great scores. However, Maynooth soon added 4 more points within 5 minutes and had the home team under pressure. Great fielding by Aisling Hyland found Lindsey Donovan on the edge of the box who gave the Maynooth keeper Aibhinn Conway no chance. This left the half time score Castlemitchell 1-04, Maynooth 1-05. Castlemitchell snatched a goal in the opening seconds of the half and Lawless extended the lead with another two points. Maynooth got points through Michelle Carey and Orlaith Kirwan. Castlemitchell's Laura Pender, Laoise Langton, Steffi Fennelly and Jamie Curtis were outstanding in the backs and Lawless extended the lead with two frees.Lawless was at the end of an excellent pass from Aoife May to score Castlemitchell last point of the half. Despite a late surge from Maynooth, the home side held on as deserved winners.

Division 2 Clane 0-6 Kilcock 3-7
The Kilcock senior ladies made the short trip to Clane and came away with two more points in the bag and their 100% league record intact. This game though was not as one-sided as the ten point difference may suggest and had it not been for the goals, it could have been a totally different outcome. Kilcock have full forward Emma Robinson to thank for her brace in the first half and Noelle Conlon for her spectacular solo effort in the second. It was five minutes before the opening score and it came for Kilcock through Robinson. Clane struck back when midfielder Kiri Lowry cut a line through Kilcock's defence and tapped the ball over the bar. The visitors struggled to cope with Lowry early on and it was she who was fouled fourteen yards from goal to allow full forward and place kicker Nicki Collins tap the resulting free over the black spot. Two became three soon after when Collins again pointed from a placed ball. Kilcock though began to grow into the game and their new look forward line began to create chances but it was two frees from the boot of Grace White that had them level after fifteen minutes. Robinson pounced on the end of a rebound and finished to an empty net. She slotted home another a couple of minutes later. Lowry and Collins responded for Clane with a point from play and one from a free respectively. Kilcock's White wrapped up the scoring for the half when she got her first point from play following some fine movement from Linda Byrne and Aisling O'Connor. Half-time score Clane 0-5 Kilcock 2-4. The second half praise must go to both sets of defenders who worked so hard to keep the respective forwards at bay. From the throw in Lowry carried the ball to within twenty yards of the goal and without a tackle, duly slotted the ball over the bar. If Kilcock were worried, they need not have been as this was to be Clane's only score of the second half. Kilcock points from Robinson, White and Sheena Byrne kept them ticking over. Conlon who started centre forward, was moved to the edge of the square by stand in manager Seamus Kane and this change reaped dividends straight away as she caught a high ball, beat three defenders and blasted the ball to the roof of the net. For Clane Grainne Gaffney was superb in goal, Kiri Lowry was a constant threat to Kilcock throughout, aided by Ciara McAndrew in the forwards. Kilcock had to reshuffle somewhat but a lot of players stepped up to the mark. Eimear Kelly was as solid as ever in goal while the whole full back line of Therese Macken, Linda Byrne and Mary Tighe got out in front of their forwards to win their fair share of ball. Fiona Campion looked at home at centre back, while just to her right, Orla Cagney was the stand out player on the night, working hard to link defence and attack while at the same time stopping any dangerous attacks from Clane. Aisling O'Connor worked hard in midfield throughout. Shanon Byrne revelled in her new position at wing forward and got through a mountain of work until substituted with five minutes left and while all the forwards moved well together, Emma Robinson's haul of 2-2 made her stand out. Senior league Division 4 Monasterevin 2-7 Rheban 2-3
A much anticipated div 4 clash between Rheban and Monasterevin on a very wet and windy Tuesday evening in Monasterevin lived to all expectations. The home team got on the scoreboard first with a point inside 5 mins of the game starting. Rheban's Arlene Kelly responded with a well taken point from an acute angle. Rheban pressed hard for the next 5 mins and it paid off when a ball broke just outside the 6 yard box and Dameill Moore was the quickest to react and slotted the ball in to the corner of the net putting Rheban in front. Monasterevin responded with 4 unanswered points followed by a goal which gave them a 4 point lead going into the second half. Monasterevin opened the second half with a well taken point. Rheban quickly responded with a great point from Niamh O Neill. Celina Owens worked hard in the back line which lead to Rhebans next goal she passed a ball to Ally Shaw who in turn passed it to Biddy Byrne who laid it off Rhebans full forward Gillian Brerton who punched it in to the back of the net leaving only a one point lead to the home team. Joy was short lived for Rheban as Monasterevin quickly responded by getting their second goal of the game and then Geraldine Casey hit back with a great point for Rheban which was to be Rhebans last score of the game .Sinead Commons was denied a penalty by some great goal keeping from the Monasterevin keeper. Monasterevin again worked the ball back up the pitch to get their last score of the game. Action did'nt stop there and Rheban did'nt give up trying, Sharon o Connor was also denied a goal after hitting a cracking shot from 21 yards only to hit the upright, which spun out to the wing just in time for the referee to blow it up. Over all it was a great sporting game despite the wet and windy conditions which it was played in. Division 5 Castledermot 3-6 Kildangan Nurney 3-4
Castledermot took on Kildangan/Nurney at home on in round 4 of the league. It was a closely contested game and nail biting to watch from the side line. Castledermot led for most of the game but Kildangan/Nurney clawed their way back with Castledermot fading from the game and also had a girl sin binned. Castledermot were 1 point down in the last few minutes of the game when Shauna Doyle scored a goal to clinch the win for the home side. This win puts Castledermot top of the table after winning four games from four. Best for Castledermot on the night were Roisin Kelly, Shauna Doyle and Betsy Kwiatkowski. Best for Kildangan Nurney were Lorna Merrins and Helen Sexton. Scorers for Castledermot were Sinead Deering 2-0, Shanua Doyle 1-4, Betsy Kwiatkowski 0-1 and Jackie Whelan 0-1. Tweet
