The second quarter final ganes in the 2010 TG4 all Ireland senior Championship, will take place in Banagher, County Offaly, on (Saturday 21st), with referee Michael John O'Keeffe (Cork) starting proceeding at 12:30, Laois and Monaghan will contest the first TG4 all Ireland senior Championship quarter final, Monaghan were crowned all Ireland champion back in 1997, and have knocked on the door a number of times since, losing out in the 2002 final to Mayo, and more recently they suffered at the hands of Cork in the 2008 final, while losing out to Dublin in last years semi finals.

Over the past thirty six years Laois have competed in eight all Ireland senior championship finals, In 1996, Laois were denied by Monaghan in the final of that year , however the O'Moore County were back five years later to claim their first all Ireland senior champions title in 2001, beating Mayo on the day. This year, Laois saw off near neighbours kildare in round two, to book their place in tomorrows quarter final encounter with the Farneys, with the winners meeting either Dublin or Kerry.

Reigning champions Cork and title contenders Tyrone will follow in the second quarter final game, with Referee: Des Mc Enery(Westmeath) throwing in at 2:15, the Rebelettes are on course for their sixth senior title in a row, but there are a number of hurdles they must clear before lifting their sixth title. Tyrone, who have never lifted the Brendan Martin cup will be hoping to dethrone the Cork ladies, in what should an exciting 2nd quarter final game in the County Offaly venue.

Dublin have already booked their semi final place with a seven point winning margin over a determined Clare side , in their quarter final game on the 14th of August last. The Banner County, stepped up to the senior ranks after claiming the TG4 all Ireland Intermediate championship in 2009.

Westmeath, Kilkenny and Longford competed in this years TG4 Intermediate championship, with Longford going through to the semi finals stage, with wins over Kilkenny, Roscommon, Antrim and drawing with Waterford to share top spot in group A, while Donegal and Cavan are the top teams in group B.

On Sunday next (22nd August) Wicklow and Louth go head to head in Hollywood (Wicklow)for the third time this season, to decide who will progress to the semi final stages of the TG4 all Ireland junior championship. with referee Martin Seery (Westmeath) throwing in at 2pm. In what should be the game of the season.

Wicklow and Louth drew the shortest straws, when their names came out of the hat after Wexford beat Louth in Wexford Park on Sunday last; with just three counties competing in group B, and all three registering three points apiece, Wicklow and Louth must enter the arena once again to battle it out for a place in the All Ireland Junior Championship semi final, with eventual winner lining out against Derry in the semi final. Its twenty years since a Wicklow ladies football team last set foot on the sacred turf of Croke Park, on that occasion they beat London to lift the all Ireland Junior title. While Wexford will face their toughest test to date, when they come up against last years beaten finalist, Limerick in the remaining semi final.
